Hajj KSA, is the fifth pillar of Islam, a sacred pilgrimage to the holy city of Makkah that every Muslim must undertake at least once in their lifetime, provided they have the financial and physical means. It is not just a journey of the body but also of the soul—an act of devotion, sacrifice, and submission to Allah.

During Hajj, certain Hajj Dua (supplications) hold great significance and are recited at various rituals throughout the pilgrimage. This guide will cover the essential Hajj Dua in Arabic, their meanings, and the significance of each stage of the pilgrimage.

1. The Intention (Niyyah) for Hajj pilgrimage

Before beginning Hajj, pilgrims must make their intention clear. The Niyyah is an internal declaration of the purpose of performing Hajj.

Arabic Hajj Dua:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ الْحَجَّ فَيَسِّرْهُ لِي وَتَقَبَّلْهُ مِنِّي

Translation: “O Allah, I intend to perform Hajj, so make it easy for me and accept it from me.”

Significance: This Hajj dua is a declaration of intent, seeking Allah’s help and acceptance. It purifies the pilgrim’s heart and aligns their focus on the spiritual journey ahead.

2. Talbiyah – The Call of Submission

Once the intention is made, pilgrims recite the Talbiyah, a profound declaration of servitude to Allah.

Arabic/ Hajj Ki Dua:

لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ، إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ، لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ

Translation: “Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Verily, all praise and blessings are Yours, and all sovereignty, You have no partner.”

Significance: The Talbiyah signifies complete submission to Allah’s will. Pilgrims continue to recite this throughout the pilgrimage, affirming their devotion and reminding themselves of Allah’s oneness.

Seeing the Holy Kaaba for the first time is a powerful moment for pilgrims.

Translation: “O Allah, increase this House in honor, greatness, awe, and reverence. Grant those who enter it safety, dignity, and righteousness.”
